Time to declare Rincon surf season officially over...
Now the we have reached the halfway mark of May, it's time to declare the 2006/2007 Rincon surf season officially over. El Niño has clearly given way to La Niña, so we can expect some sporadic windswell action at the point over the Summer months, as colder than normal green water rich in nutrients from upwelling will keep the onshore breezes and overcast skies going until probably September. Hopefully there will be some Southern-Hemi action to keep us occupied, either up North at Jalama, or down South from Ventura to Malibu... As it is now time to reflect on the season past, while it was sub-par maybe as far as Rincon standards go, there were still many great sessions to be had -- especially for those who were willing to either get up early or stay out late... I plan on posting pictures from this season here every week, so check back from time to time to see if I managed to catch you in one. I still have literally hundreds of high-quality / hi-resolution images from March and April to sort through; please feel free to contact me for prints or posters.
I'll leave you now with a few shots beginning in September, one per month through April.
The lovely Heather Hudson starts things off...
