Gale force winds offshore send chest/shoulder-high waves to Rincon
As had been forecasted for a few days, a moderate windswell arrived over the weekend, much to the delight of the local diehards. Reports stated that with the early am low tide sessions, the size was a little better, and the waves quite hollow. According to one account, The Rivermouth was going off all morning today (Sunday), with fast barrels for those who made it out. I actually made it out myself today for a mid-day Cove session, but it seemed like deep water of the high tide was choking off the energy - a longboard was a necessity. The light was very poor with the heavy overcast - not ideal shooting conditions, so I'll post a few more pics from the great week of waves that we had back in late April...

Jon I was out there at the indicator around 8am on Sunday, and it was really good, way better than the Saturday session. Some long rides to be had and fairly empty. Thing is I tweaked my back so bad out there I couldn't even change out of my wetsuit when I got to my truck.
