First Significant Rainfall Puts a Damper on Conditions at Rincon

For the better part of the past week, a passing storm front brought both wind a rain to the point, leaving most surfers out in the cold.  Rain gauges in Santa Barbara measured as much as 3" of precipitation.  The threat of bacterial contamination didn't keep everyone out of the water, though, as the diehard faithfull continued to charge - only to find mostly weak and crumbly surf.  The good news is that the NPAC is kicking up big time, and should provide good conditions through the Christmas holiday.  Maybe not quite as huge as the last swell, but a formidable wave-generator nonetheless...
