The Rincon Roller Coaster

New Zealand Surf Travel

"I am writing after having just stumbled upon Rincon Surf Blog. Noticing your dedicated surf writing, I thought you might be interested in sharing information with your readers about a fantastic surf destination outside of U.S. shores: New Zealand.

With over 15,000 km (9,400 miles) of coastline, New Zealand has a spectacular collection of beach, reef, point and river-mouth breaks to keep the avid surfer engaged for days. Located in the southwest Pacific, New Zealand is about a 12-hour flight from most of the major cities on the west coast, making it an ideal getaway for the surfer looking to escape and catch some different swell.

If you follow the link below, you’ll reach a New Zealand surf mini-documentary clip that highlights the kind of surf the island country has to offer. Feel free to use this and any of the information on the NZ Tourism website in posting information about New Zealand surf and travel with your readers: www.newzealand.com.

Please let me know your thoughts if you have a chance. Thanks for your time!

Cheers,

The 25th Annual Rincon Classic - February 23rd & 24th!

"Surf Happens is proud to welcome you to the 25th annual Rincon Classic slated to be held on Saturday and Sunday February 23 and 24, 2008. This all-ages event is open to local area residents to celebrate our sport and the spirit of aloha within our community. 2008 earmarks our official turning over of a new environmental leaf as we endeavor to turn the Classic into a green event and minimize our impact on the point and the earth. Through donations from local artists we are creating all organic trophies that are unique works of art. Each piece is hand crafted and designed to represent the ideals of the Rincon Classic. Not only are the trophies good for the environment, but they won’t sit in your corner and gather dust either. We have everything from Guitars and Uekelele’s courtesy of Jensen’s Guitar, Drums from Full Circle and Uncle Gilly’s, killer hand painted plates from Color Me Mine of Goleta, ceramic waves, and solar carvings by Solar B on driftwood from Rincon.

What could be more Aloha then giving back through the event? A portion of all proceeds are being donated to Heal The Ocean, Hugs For Cubs, and the Teddy Bear Foundation, in support of the environment and to contribute to local charities."
