Sporadic Action Keeping the Queen Alive
Despite the season being over (only technically speaking), moderate windswell activity has provided rewards for those who bother to physically check the conditions on a daily basis. Low pressure systems have been making their way down the coast. thickening the marine layer, and boosting local breezes. Water temperatures are unseasonably frigid, still mired in the low-to-mid fifties, so you might even want to break out your 4/3's.

Jon Meixner, a former Santa Barbara resident, is the owner of Ember Clothing Company (www.emberusa.com), a start-up southern California surf-inspired clothing company that teamed up with Boarding House Mentors to support last month's charity event at Rincon.
