Announcing the "Dave Johnson Fire Fund"
The legendary surfboard shaper was described as "being in an upbeat spirit" despite the devastation that he and his family have suffered at the hands of the devastating Tea fire. Many Rincon Surf Blog readers have expressed a desire to assist the Johnson family in its recovery, so here is the preferred mode: an account called the "Dave Johnson Fire Fund" has been set up at Santa Barbara Bank & Trust. The good news is that Dave had a good insurance policy in effect at the time of the fire. Unfortunately, that will not be enough to affect the Johnson family recovery. Cash donations will be necessary. If you wish to personalize the delivery of your donation, kindly hand deliver it directly to Dave at his shaping room located on Fairview Avenue, otherwise remift a gift or contribution in the name of Dave Johnson directly at your local SBBT branch office. God bless all Tea Fire victims and survivors...

Saturday's surfing: The Rivermouth was smoking...

Glassy and clean head-high surf with plus sets

You can't see it in these pics, but it was very crowded, an obvious result of desperation that is the result of Winter so far as flat.

Great photos. Thanks for posting information on how we can help out the Johnson family. What an unfortunate event.

I have a new product on the market that I invented and it's called Get Stacked It replaces the old towels or wetsuits when stacking you boards. Since it is brand new, do you have suggestions on how I can market this product? My web address is www.getstackd.com. Thanks.
