A year ago we were on the receiving end of a steady diet of North Pacific energy, but so far this December has been pretty much a bust. Aside from a few head-high days at the point, conditons have been weak, with storms approaching from too much of a Northerly trajectory, producing swells that haven't been able to bend around Point Conception and on down the Santa Barbara Channel. Normally, December is one of the strongest months of the year. Unfortunately, the short-term forecast is offering not even a glimmer of hope as surfers grapple with the reality that the season is now almost 1/4 over...
